Job description
Think Engineer is a small team of engineers based in Reading and looking for talented engineers to join our team. One of the roles we are currently looking to fill is a Full Stack Developer.
Your Role
We are seeking someone who has experience developing web applications in JavaScript. You would be part of our team developing a SaaS platform that is for developing and managing Internet of Thinks (IoT) devices. This involves working on different codebases (API's and front end applications). You would be working in a small agile-ish team to developing features for the existing software system. You would be working with VueJS/Vuetify and FeathersJS.
You will need to follow good practise when developing features, which will include use of GIT for version management, branching, pull-requests, etc.
You will be using a combination of tools including Jira, BitBucket, Docker, Slack, etc.
If you have sufficient experience then you could be responsible for merging features and deploying releases.
You will have the opportunity to grow into a role as lead developer and ultimately take responsibility for the software development team (UK based and abroad).
In addition to our existing codebases, there will be projects that require creating new API's and frontends from scratch and you will be responsible for creating these and setting them up.
About You
You are the kind of person who is happy to take ownership for your part of a project and be responsible for design, development and testing.
You are happy to work in a small team, and support others as well as ask for help.
You enjoy building interesting things, learning new skills, and seeing a project through to completion.
You have experience with JavaScript, JS frameworks and full-stack development.
You have experience using tools such as GIT and Jira in the context of a development team.
You are a quick learner and willing and able to learn new things and apply them.
You will be happy to grow into a leadership role as we expand the software development team in the future.
You will have relevant academic qualifications (e.g. BSc Computer Science), and/or relevant experience.
You have some knowledge/experience with hardware or embedded systems, such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi and similar.
Although we can facilitate working from home, we would expect that you will work from the office most of the time in the first few months, to help integrate you into the team, however after this period we can be flexible with working arrangements, but it is likely you will need to be in the office on a regular basis to have access to equipment and work with the team in person.
Start Date: ASAP
If this sounds like the role for you, please get in touch as we'd love to speak with you about joining our team!
